40+ Joined Glen Rock’s Community Bike Ride for All Ages

On Sunday, July 20, 2026, a group of 40 Glen Rock residents set out on a festive community bike ride that celebrated togetherness and active fun. Finding safety in numbers, the ride brought together a mix of solo riders and families, with participants ranging from toddlers to senior citizens.

Riders met at 10 a.m. in the Glen Rock Library parking lot and followed a route that ended at the Glen Rock Municipal Pool. Along the way, residents joined and left at several points, including the park, the high school, and downtown near Starbucks. The ride operated like a community “bike bus” with a come-and-go format.

To ensure inclusivity, the group rode at a relaxed pace, making the experience welcoming for even the smallest cyclists. Music and bubbles added a festive touch. Safety remained a focus throughout the ride, with participants wearing helmets, using standard hand signals, and following traffic rules.

"I love biking my 4-year-old around town, but it often doesn’t feel safe,” said Katie Paul, who proposed the ride in local Facebook groups. “There’s greater safety in numbers, so I wanted to connect with other family-friendly cyclists. Biking together is also loads of fun, to boot."

Volunteers helped escort the group by leading the pack, escorting riders through intersections, and riding in the rear to keep everyone together. The ride not only promoted safe cycling and local engagement but also spotlighted the borough’s strong community spirit.
