On Sunday, July 6, the Glen Rock Police Department officially welcomed two new officers during a swearing-in ceremony led by Mayor Kristine Morieko.

P.O. Sebestian Zuniga and P.O. Kelvin Preciado bring valuable experience to Glen Rock, having transferred from other law enforcement agencies. Officer Zuniga comes from the Montclair State University Police Department and previously served with the New Jersey Department of Corrections. Officer Preciado transferred from the Morris Plains Police Department and also served with the U.S. Park Police in Washington, D.C.

Both officers are fluent in Spanish, increasing the number of Spanish-speaking officers in the Glen Rock Police Department to five. They will now complete an accelerated Field Training Program tailored for experienced officers and are expected to begin independent patrols by the end of the summer.

Council Member Maureen Rozanski shared her congratulations on Facebook: “On Sunday, June 6th, I was honored to welcome our two newest officers to the Glen Rock Police Department. Congratulations to P.O. Sebestian Zuniga and P.O. Kelvin Preciado! We are thrilled to welcome you to Glen Rock.”
