Plein Air Painting Brings Artists Together at the Museum at the Station

On August 10, the Glen Rock Historical & Preservation Society welcomed members of the Glen Rock Arts Council for a plein air painting session at the Museum at the Station. The event, part of the Arts Council’s summer and fall plein air series, drew artists who set up their easels and sketched or painted scenes in an inspiring local setting.
One of the featured works from the day was created by Arts Council member Lori Polson, whose work can be found at LoriWeisbartART.com.
“I love painting with the Glen Rock Arts Council, meeting new people each time and sharing great conversation,” Polson said. “We painted inside the Glen Rock Historical Museum. The vintage setting was incredibly calming and it was so interesting to learn about the history of Glen Rock. ”
The Glen Rock Historical & Preservation Society, which regularly partners with local groups, says it enjoys opening its doors to creative gatherings like this.
The plein air program is open to artists of all levels and ages. Sessions run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are free to attend. There is no formal instruction, participants simply bring their own materials and enjoy the shared experience of creating art in a chosen location.
The next two sessions are scheduled for:
- Sunday, September 14 – Location to be determined
- Sunday, October 19 – Location to be determined
