Plein Air Sundays Return to Glen Rock

The Arts Council of Glen Rock is inviting artists of all ages and skill levels to step outside and get inspired. Plein Air Sunday Mornings return this summer, offering a relaxed and welcoming way to paint or draw in natural settings alongside fellow local creatives.
“En plein air” — French for “in the open air” — refers to the practice of creating art outdoors. It’s a tradition favored by the Impressionists, and it’s alive and well in Glen Rock. Each month from June through October, artists will meet at a designated outdoor spot from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM to work from life and enjoy the camaraderie of the local arts community.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own materials (easels, watercolors, pencils, pastels, or even just a sketchpad and folding chair). For those just starting out or curious to try, watercolors, colored pencils, and paper will be provided at each gathering.
