Three Hit-and-Run Crashes in June

The Glen Rock Police Department is investigating a series of hit-and-run incidents that occurred within just over two weeks this June. Three separate crashes involving legally parked vehicles have been reported, all struck by unidentified vehicles that fled the scene.

The first incident occurred on June 12 at approximately 9:51 AM. A blue 2022 Mini Cooper, which was legally parked on Edgemont Road near Gramercy Place, was sideswiped between 8:20 and 8:50 AM.

The second crash was reported on June 24 at 6:39 PM. A gray 2020 Toyota Highlander was sideswiped while parked on the 200 block of Glen Avenue near Maple Avenue.

The most recent incident happened on June 28 around 5:50 PM. A silver 2025 Hyundai Palisade, parked in the lot of the Glen Rock Municipal Pool on Doremus Avenue, was struck by another vehicle that left the scene.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed these incidents or can provide information about the vehicles involved to contact them at (201) 652-3800.

Authorities are also reminding the public that fleeing the scene of a crash is a serious offense under New Jersey law. According to N.J.S.A. 39:4-129 and 39:4-130, drivers involved in motor vehicle accidents must stop, exchange information, and report the incident to the police if there is injury, death, or more than $500 in property damage. Officers are required to respond directly to the scene of such crashes and cannot file a report unless they are present.

A conviction for leaving the scene of an accident can carry heavy penalties, including substantial fines and potential jail time.
