Trustee Resignation Frustrates BOE With Delayed Effective Date

At its September 29, 2025 meeting, the Glen Rock Board of Education accepted the resignation of Trustee Sinead Rundell, effective November 1, 2025. The resignation drew attention not only because of the delayed date but also because Rundell’s term was set to expire at the end of 2025, and she had already indicated she was not seeking reelection.
Several board members expressed disappointment that the resignation will not take effect sooner. Trustee Christine Palmaris voiced concern directly, saying, “I also echo that it’s a little strange to put a resignation in not effective immediately and that it’s dated so far out to November 1st. I find that unfortunate.”
The current Board of Education is composed of Christine Parlamis, Karyn Stephenson, Edmund Hayward, Daniel Corey, and Boaz Cohen, with Stephanie Carosella, Elizabeth Calvez (vice president), Dr. Damali Robinson (president), and Sinead Rundell also serving. Rundell’s departure will open an additional vacancy alongside the regularly scheduled election this fall, when voters will choose from five candidates running for three open seats.
